Rhinitis/rhinorrhea (intranasal products):

Indications for: BECONASE AQ

Allergic and vasomotor rhinitis. Prophylaxis of nasal polyp recurrence.

Adults and Children:

<6yrs: not recommended. ≥6yrs: 1–2 sprays in each nostril twice daily; max 2 sprays in each nostril twice daily. Reevaluate if no improvement in 3 weeks; nasal polyp prophylaxis may warrant longer treatment.

BECONASE AQ Warnings/Precautions:

Avoid in recent nasal septal ulcers, nasal surgery, or nasal trauma until healed. Monitor periodically for possible changes in nasal mucosa with long-term use. Discontinue if persistent nasopharyngeal irritation or Candida infection (treat with local therapy) occurs. Respiratory tract tuberculosis. Untreated infections (eg, fungal, bacterial, viral, ocular herpes simplex). If exposed to chickenpox or measles, consider immune globulin or antiviral ­prophylactic therapies. Monitor for hypercorticism and HPA axis suppression (if occurs, discontinue gradually), growth suppression in children, or any visual changes. Avoid eyes. Pregnancy. Nursing mothers.

BECONASE AQ Classification:

Adverse Reactions:

Nasal irritation, sneezing, headache, nausea, epistaxis, rhinorrhea.
