Acne:
Indications for: Erythromycin Gel
Acne vulgaris.
Adult Dosage:
Thoroughly cleanse and pat dry. Apply thin film to affected area 1–2 times a day.
Children Dosage:
Not established.
Erythromycin Gel Warnings/Precautions:
Avoid eyes, nose, mouth, and mucous membranes. Discontinue if no improvement after 6–8 weeks, or if condition worsens. Pregnancy (Cat.B). Nursing mothers.
Erythromycin Gel Classification:
Macrolide antibiotic.
Erythromycin Gel Interactions:
Additive irritation with other topical products (esp. abrasives, desquamating, or peeling agents).
Adverse Reactions:
Peeling, dryness, itching, erythema, oiliness, irritation, urticaria; pseudomembranous colitis.
