Indications for: MEPHYTON

Anticoagulant-induced hypoprothrombinemia. Secondary hypoprothrombinemia. Other drug-induced hypoprothrombinemia.

Adult Dosage:

See full labeling. Initially 2.5–25mg as a single dose depending on severity and response; max 50mg.

Children Dosage:

Not established.

MEPHYTON Warnings/Precautions:

Does not counteract effects of heparin. Thromboembolism. Hepatic disease. Absorption requires endogenous bile supply. Elderly. Premature infants. Pregnancy. Nursing mothers.

MEPHYTON Interactions:

May induce temporary resistance to prothrombin-depressing anticoagulants.

Adverse Reactions:

Transient flushing sensations, peculiar sensations of taste, instances of dizziness, rapid/weak pulse, profuse sweating, brief hypotension, dyspnea, cyanosis; hypersensitivity reactions, hyperbilirubinemia (w. high doses).
