Skin infections (topicals):

Indications for XEPI:

Impetigo due to S. pyogenes or S. aureus.

Adults and Children:

<2mos: not established. ≥2mos: apply thin layer to affected area twice daily for 5 days. Affected area should be 2% of total BSA and max 100cm2 (if <12yrs) or up to 100cm2 (if ≥12yrs). Wash hands after application. May be occluded.

Warnings/Precautions:

Not for oral, ophthalmic, intranasal, or intravaginal use. Discontinue if superinfection occurs. Pregnancy. Nursing mothers.

Pharmacologic Class:

Quinolone.

Adverse Reactions:

Rosacea, seborrheic dermatitis.
