Indications for: XIPERE

Macular edema associated with uveitis.

Adult Dosage:

Administer anesthesia and broad-spectrum microbicide prior to use. Give 4mg (0.1mL) by suprachoroidal inj. Maintain hub against the eye for 3–5secs after inj.

Children Dosage:

Not established.

XIPERE Contraindications:

Ocular or periocular infections (including dendritic keratitis, vaccinia, varicella, mycobacterial infections, fungal diseases).

XIPERE Warnings/Precautions:

Glaucoma. Secondary ocular infections. History of ocular herpes simplex. Avoid in active ocular herpes simplex. Monitor for HPA axis suppression, Cushing’s syndrome, hyperglycemia with chronic use. Reinstitute hormone therapy during physiologic stress. Thyroid disorders. Monitor for endophthalmitis, retinal detachments, elevated intraocular pressure, perfusion of optic nerve head, or tonometry post-inj. Pregnancy. Nursing mothers.

XIPERE Classification:

Glucocorticoid.

Adverse Reactions:

Elevated intraocular pressure, eye pain, cataract, vitreous detachment.
