Video: A Step-By-Step Explanation of Thyroid Lobectomy

The thyroid is a butterfly shaped gland with two lobes located on either side of the trachea. A minimally invasive thyroid lobectomy is the surgical removal of one of these lobes. This procedure is indicated in a variety of thyroid disorders, but most notably in cases of thyroid cancer. This video demonstrates how the procedure is performed.
